ABOUT ME
MY STORY
My name is Chenthil Mohan. I am an Indian sports photographer, based in Bangalore. Back in 2010, I started out as a wedding photographer and a commercial photographer to make ends meet, and fuel my passion in sports photography. I have been shooting Indian sports for over a decade now. I specialise in shooting cycling, tennis and swimming, and I am always looking for other sporting action to document.
My immediate dream is to shoot Indian athletes at the 2024 Paris Olympics. The long-term vision for sports anon is to make it a leading Sports Media Agency supplying quality Indian sports content.
This journey in sports photography started with shooting my community cycling scene in Bangalore. Over the last 10 years, I’ve consistently shot Indian cycling in all forms. Track Cycling, Road Cycling or MTB – I’ve shot it all. In the last few years, I have expanded my horizons to Tennis and Swimming.
The challenges faced by an athlete just to be at the start line even before the competition begins was my trigger to shoot sports. Documenting under-represented Indian sports in my role as a freelance sports photographer is my way of helping the sporting culture and community grow.
Along with shooting international events I’ve also documented top level domesting sporting events like various national championships every year. I also work with independent athletes to build a visual portfolio of their sporting journey to help them market themselves better. On the commercial photography end of things I’ve worked with fitness and health care based corporates for their visual needs.
While I am not hustling around to make ends meet as a photographer, along with my wife Freya, I am busy serving the needs of my cats and dogs. My true masters.
